And I was out about 9:30, went for a bike ride after working out. Then biked it to the store, so nice out, Spring is here, yippee yay!

And what kind of Big Food did you get for your son? I am making pasta and Italian sausage tonight with the salad and oh, now I am famished thinking about it but I must adhere to some restraint and a wee bit of patience. All good things are worth waiting for!

Ok , I just called you, I guess you were out. But my number should be on your caller ID. I'm going out at lunch time for a bit to pick up some big food for my son who needs some nutrition, but then I'll be here. Working, working, working. Ha. Ha.

Hi Tracey, glad to make your aquaintance. Your story is truly inspirational. I see you are a photographer. Got a portfolio together yet?

Photography has been around me alot. My father practiced it as a hobby (in the days of black and white), he had his own dark room. My older sister is now into it and my daughter is looking at studying it again in the future. Im not sure what being a photographer really involves in this day and age with digital now being in the forefront. I do toy at the idea of giving it a go but greatly lack knowledge in all areas at this point, except for appreciating a good piece of work of course. :)

Tell Us A Little About Yourself
I write poetry and short fiction, raise two teenagers and try to keep up with the rest of life in between.

I'm passionate about a lot of things in my life: my family, my writing, my photography, and also about learning ; I try to learn something new every day. I am learning to write HTML code right now. (Excel was a bust SmileyCentral.com )

I believe a successful life is one where you endeavor every day to find happiness in the things that you do and with the people around you.

If I had a theme song, it would be "Unwritten" by Natasha Bettingfield.
What Music Do You Like?
My tastes are very eclectic. I like Jazz, Rock, Light Classical, what little Rockabilly I've heard, Crossover Country. I'm not a fan of Rap or Classic Country or Opera really. But I do adore Pavarotti! Some of my favorites are Seal ,U2, Evanescence and Pat Benatar (Especially the album with "Hell is for Children") on it.
What are your creative outlets and/or aspirations?
My children first, then hopefully for my writing.
What or Who are your greatest inspirations?
My children first, and then my best friend who battles a similar illness.

Earthhour 2009, One Billion and Beyond

Earth hour is one of the most important events of our time. For one hour, once a year, millions of people around the globe, including whole cities and corporations will turn off their lights. This may seem small, but the impact is amazing. Last year alone, that one hour saved an astounding amount of energy. For instance, Toronto reportedly saved 900 megawatts of electricity which roughly equates to 556 tons of CO2 emissions.

The first Earth Hour occurred in Sydney, Australia in 2007 when 2.2 mi… Continue

On a More Personal Note - I Signed Up for National Novel Writing Month!

It starts November 1, and the goal is to write 50,000 in 30 days. I've already got an outline, of sorts, and I'm working on my plot points, trying to get more organized. I'm usually more of a sit down and just write it kind of person. Anyway, I'm getting really excited to get started and not just a little scared. Of course nothing bad happens if you don't make it and all you're really competing for is a certificate that says you made it, but still. I'm psyched. I've taken a few days off to write… Continue

Speak Out Against Puppy Mills and Elephant Abuse!

Hey, I know I'm becoming the petition queen here, but I really believe in these causes. First, there is a petition put forth by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Care2 condemning the "Greatest Show on Earth" for their treatment of the captive show elephants. The allegations include, "hitting the elephants with bull hooks, rubbing dirt into sores of elephants to conceal their wounds, and routinely chaining the elephants on concrete or in cramped rail cars f… Continue

Celebrate Earth Day by Speaking Out for Jaguars, Polar Bears and other Imperiled Wildlife

I recently sent a message regarding our Secretary of the Interior, Dirk Kempthorne, who has apparently failed miserably in his duties regarding endangered species. Below is the letter I received in response and a link to send a message of your own if you so desire. Thank you for reading.

Tracey

Dear Tracey,

Thank you for celebrating Earth Day by taking the time to speak out for jaguars, polar bears and other imperiled wildlife. Will you take the next step and help us spread the word?

South Africa to Allow Culling (Killing) of its Elephant Herds by Trophy Hunters

Hey Everyone!

Here's a way to make a monumental change. I have provided a link to a petition to help save the Elephants. As you know, elephants are highly intelligent mammals that live together in familty groups. It takes 22 months for a new calf to be born. I don't know what other posible conservation efforts the government considered, but this is unacceptable. Many people on gather have and are signing the petition. I hope you will check it out for yourselves and sign it too.

Thanks,

Tracey… Continue

Monumental Lives For Monumental Change: ....Join Us!

We Making The Difference!" The Steps Toward A Better World Begin With The Steps Taken To Better Oneself! "A foundation is but the base and it is the collection of building blocks that creates what many should strive to ascend."

Living a monumental life doesn't necessarily mean possession of a large financial fortune or living in the spotlight of public adoration and fame. What I think it means is that you act in accordance with your own identity while acting in ways that are positive and conducive to happiness, serenity and harmony. What I think it means is that you generate positive energies and in turn, your positive energies have a positive effect on others. Linkin' Monuments-- a positive chain of energy! Read More>>>

The Thirteen Reasons

1.) You are as important as the next person
2.) Your contributions to this world are as monumental as the next person
3.)You believe in yourself because you know you "can"
4.)You believe in your neighbors because you know they "can"
5.)No matter how difficult it may seem, you are not alone.
6.)You deserve as much respect as does the next person
7.)Don't wonder so much what your life might have been but put into action what you want your life to become.
8.)You matter because we all matter.
9.)Enough failures will lead to success once you succeed in failing to give up.
10.)This world has so much to offer and you have so much more to offer it.
11.)You have many talents and abilities...a few which may have yet to be uncovered.
12.)The treasures you may seek are near enough the heart that it wouldn't take more than a heartbeat to uncover the most precious gems of all.
13.)You are here because you belong!

Welcome!

The Three Conditions

1.)This network is for one and for all...No matter what color, what creed or belief, what political affiliation you subscribe or what candidate you endorse this network is open to you.
2.)As in any community each one of us has our own unique personalities, traits, belief systems, talents and as long as any of these elements are not breaches against the prosperity of the community then they should be allowed, accepted and honored. Community is about diversity. This is a Community
3.)It is my greatest hope that we learn from each other. Each one of us has so much to offer. No one here is better or smarter or more talented than the next person. Each one of us has our strengths; each one of us has our weaknesses. Your strength in one area is of great benefit to my weakness in that same area. A simple philosophy of mine: "A greedy mine is to learn, yet not teach & A lazy mind is to yearn, yet not reach" Let us not be greedy, let us not be lazy.
